Management

Increasing the ratio of contact lens patients
who purchase eyeglasses also has a large
impact on practice revenue and profit.
A practice with annual gross revenue of
$750,000 typically performs 63 contact
lens exams monthly, or 750 annually. If
20 percent of contact lens patients buy
eyeglasses, the annual revenue generated
is just $22,500. If a pair of single vision
eyeglasses is sold to 40 percent of patients
receiving contact lens exams, $45,000 in
revenue is generated from eyeglasses sales
to contact lens patients.
